I’m a walking contradiction. I genuinely believe I’m both the smartest and stupidest person alive, often at the same time.

So when Nathan asked me to do his podcast, my brain did this: “Finally, the world gets to hear my genius” immediately followed by “literally no one will listen to this” immediately followed by “the people who DO listen are definitely going to roast me in the comments.”

But I did it anyway. And I’ll probably never listen to it myself (too much cringe potential), but I’m genuinely glad I said yes.

Because maybe—just maybe—someone will hear it and build something. And that’s the whole point.

WordPress is the same kind of contradiction. It’s simultaneously the most powerful tool for democratizing the web AND the most boring technology to talk about at parties. It’s everything and nothing. It’s the best and the worst.

And that’s exactly why it matters.
